More Iris Folding

I started thinking this morning, and realized you can use this technique in any shape you like. This is a 5 by 7 card. I am thinking about making a set of note cards for a Christmas gift for a friend in different garden type shapes. For the center I just used one sheet of floral origami paper.

Christmas Cards

I really got a jump start this year, and made most of my Christmas Cards this weekend; well at least I have 32 made, I may need a few more. The technique I used this year was called Iris Folding for the main part of my cards. I used my Cricut to cut a 3 inch circle into the dark green card stock. I then used an Iris templete and Origami Paper to make the middle portion (the Iris Folds). I then attached these to gold speckled cards stock. The greeting inside of each will vary, depending on the recipient of the card. Below are 6 examples of my cards, all 32 are unique, so I was difficult to decide which to show you.

If you are interested in making your own, there are good instructions and templates available at this site! http://www.handcraftedgreetings.com/irisinst.html
